Washing your face with a gentle facial wash is a basic step in keeping an oil-free skin. An astringent lotion should be applied next because it can easily dissolve the fat and grease which have been left behind. A good astringent lotion should be alcohol-free and should not contain acetone. After the application of astringent, slather on a watery moisturizer and dabbing a tissue over areas with excess moisturizer. A moisturizer will keep your skin smooth.
It is a well-known fact that an oily skin ages at a slower rate compared to other types of skin. But oily skin needs special care in order to prevent common skin problems. Oily skin should be washed with plenty of lukewarm water and soap to get rid of the dirt and sebum which can clog the pores. The use of harsh products should be avoided because the harsh chemicals present can strip your skin of its natural oil and often result in flaky skin. This condition is known as reactive seborrhea. The oil glands are overworked in an effort to compensate for the loss of the natural oils of the skin. Thus you should avoid skin creams and beauty products which will leave your skin taut and dehydrated. These products target the upper layers of the skin and cause them to shrink. When this happens, there is the restriction in the flow of oil through the pores of your skin which can lead to blockages and breakouts.
One of the best products for oily skin are clay masks because they can draw out excess dirt and oil from you skin. It is best paired with a good moisturizer because clay masks can make skin dry.
A foaming facial wash is best for oily skin. Go for those oily skincare products that contain natural organic ingredients such as lemon balm, herbal extracts, natural clays and many more.
In order to prevent pimples, one should use skincare products that contain an antibacterial agent. When you have oily skin, your skin pores usually become clogged as a result of the dirt and oils which are present in there. This situation can become a problem when the bacterial which are normally present on your skin surface will also become trapped with the dirt and oils. They will multiply in the excellent environment giving rise to unsightly acne and pimples.
